YouthBuild Columbus
![]() Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, YouthBuild Columbus Community School has incorporated environmental education into the everyday lives of the students. Recycling bins have been placed throughout the building, a green informational blog is up and running, and students will be participating in earth-friendly community service projects.
YouthBuild Columbus Community School is a registered GreenSpot, a program designed by Mayor Michael B. Coleman and the City of Columbus to recognize residents and organizations that are putting forth effort to green their homes, buildings, and lives. The construction staff has embraced the YouthBuild USA Green Building Initiative. Students enrolled in the construction program are exposed to various green building aspects from no-VOC paint to solar panels. For more information on how YBCCS is going green, visit the green blog at www.ybccsgreen.blogspot.com or the Green Building page. |
