YouthBuild Columbus Community School
Department of Labor Grant
YouthBuild Columbus Community School was awarded $1.1 million dollars by the Department of Labor. Students in all three career tech fields, construction, healthcare, and business and entrepreneurship, are eligible for a stipend that rewards their progress in academic and career tech education classes. DOL funding also helps provide leadership training, sponsors student participation in community service, along with students' career training. Originally awarded to YouthBuild's GED program in 1996, YouthBuild Columbus Community School received the grant and opened its doors as a high school diploma program in 2000. YouthBuild is proud to have received this grant that helped begin the program over 20 years ago.
